We welcome you to join us, Marie and Peter, at our property on 2 peaceful acres set amongst vineyards and olive groves in the world renowned McLaren Vale wine region.
Peter has lived in this area for over 35 years having previously owned and operated his own vineyard, winery and fruit orchard on the adjoining property. Marie’s background is in business management however a lifestyle change in 2008 led us to work in tourism and hospitality in Far North Queensland. Peter worked as an accredited Savannah Guide whilst Marie enjoyed her time making guests comfortable, informed and happy.
On returning to our property in McLaren Vale we decided tourism and hospitality is where we belong and set up our home, and vehicle, to welcome guests and to show off our beautiful area.
The McLaren Vale region is an ideal place to visit and enjoy:
Stay and share it with ‘Friends.‘
The business is aptly named Friends at McLaren Vale as we offer the same service and attention you would receive if staying with your own ‘friends.’ We even provide free transfers within 5km if you are attending a wedding/function/dinner.
‘Friends’ who will make you feel welcome, provide you with a delicious breakfast and, as Accredited Tour Operators, can even take you sightseeing.
The symbol of the ladybird reflects good luck and reminds us that our life cycle can be short, so it is important to relax and live life to the full.

Spend the day with ‘Friends’ getting an understanding of the McLaren Vale wine region. Your exclusive personalised tour takes you to two cellar doors before lunch. Our next stop is a stunning cellar door with sweeping views, perfect for relaxing over a delicious platter of regional produce. Following lunch we visit at least another 2-3 cellar door outlets giving you a diverse taste of the region’s world renowned products. Other possible inclusions are a visit to a microbrewery, to cleanse the palate with a refreshing ale, or a guided tour around a working winery (weekdays only). All tours are tailored to suit you. You may have locations you want to visit and we can certainly show you places you might not know existed.
Take in the beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula on our full day tour. Departing McLaren Vale at 9.30am we head to Silver Sands beach where, if weather and tides permit, a drive along the beach provides a great photo opportunity. Travelling South to Yankalilla we stop for morning tea before continuing to Deep Creek Conservation Park. A wonderful view of Kangaroo Island is enjoyed as we travel a 4WD track to a secluded beach. Lunch at Glacier Rock Café at the site of a remarkable geological formation estimated to be over 250 million years old. Victor Harbor is our next destination before continuing to Goolwa via Pt Elliot. Here with time and tides permitting we are able to drive along Goolwa Beach to the mouth of the Murray River. We return to McLaren Vale via Willunga Hill where a stunning elevated view of the McLaren Vale region stands out before us as we head down a lesser travelled track on The Range.
Our Half Day Wine Experience is suitable for those with less time to fill. We depart at 1.00pm visiting two cellar doors before stopping for afternoon tea at a third cellar door. There is time enough in the afternoon to call in to another two cellar doors or a microbrewery if you’d like to complete the afternoon tasting locally produced beer. The Half Day tour finishes approximately 5.30pm.
